My name is Joshua and I am a philosopher of science and physics. Recently, my research has focused on the ontology of identical particle systems in quantum mechanics and their relation to Leibniz's principle of the identity of indiscernibles, the ontology of loops in loop quantum gravity, and the nature of spacetime in general relativity and in developing theories of gravity. Ultimately, I am interested in understanding what the world is and how our language (mathematical or otherwise) represents it.
Finally, I love teaching. In teaching, I get to pass along a new appreciation for the subtlety of reality and, in return, my students challenge me with problems I had not considered, thus inspiring new ways of addressing old issues in philosophy.
